In case of overbooking, you can volunteer to give up your flight reservation in exchange for certain benefits, which you should negotiate with the airline. Additionally, you can choose either a refund of the ticket cost along with a return flight to the original departure point, or alternative transportation to the final destination.

Furthermore, you have the right for the airline to cover the expenses incurred by transferring from one airport to another when the final flights are from or to a different airport than the one for which you made the reservation.

The amount of compensation will range from €250 to €600, depending on the flight distance.

Additionally, the airline must offer you the option to choose either the refund of the ticket cost or comparable transportation to the final destination. If the airline does not offer you alternative transportation and you decide to travel on your own, you are entitled to a refund of the expenses incurred to reach your destination.
