El sector turístico ha logrado que una de sus peticiones al Gobierno se haga realidad, y es que ampliación de los plazos de vencimiento de la línea de avales del Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) se extienden por un periodo adicional de hasta cinco años.
En el comunicado del Instituto para la Calidad Turística Española (ICTE), se ponía de manifiesto que las compañías turísticas podrán pedir esta ampliación de entre dos y cinco años hasta junio de 2022, siempre que la operación completa no supere un plazo de entre ocho y diez años.
Una acción que da respuesta a una reclamación del sector, que pedía ampliar el vencimiento de los préstamos que solicitaron durante la pandemia ante las dificultades para reiniciar su actividad en medio de la situación sanitaria actual.
El ICTE afirma que ha pretendido buscar una fórmula que permitiese alargar las carencias otorgadas de forma tal que el inicio de la amortización de los préstamos concedidos coincida con el reinicio real de la actividad del sector.
Cabe recordar que, además de esta ampliación aprobada por el Gobierno y la Comisión Europea (CE), el sector aún cuenta con avales de liquidez de un total de 2.000 euros para formalizar nuevas operaciones, además de un tramo de casi 500 millones en avales de inversión con una cobertura del 90%.
Según fuentes oficiales, las líneas de avales ICO han movilizado un total de 135.000 millones a través de más de 1,1 millones de operaciones, de las cuales el 20% han estado destinadas al sector turístico.
